Restoring your smile starts right here.

Stop Missing Teeth From Embarrassing You!

Following tooth loss, dental implants provide the chance to restore a more functional and comfortable bite. These implants act as artificial roots, securely anchoring permanent tooth replacements. If you’ve encountered missing or failing teeth, chronic infection, pain chewing, or tooth decay and loss, dental implants could be advantageous for you.

You deserve to smile every day

Dental implants are changing the way people live! With them, people are rediscovering the comfort and confidence to eat, speak, laugh and enjoy life. If, like many others, you feel implant dentistry is the choice for you, then contact us today and our team will evaluate your needs.

How easy is it to get your perfect smile?

Dental implants are metal anchors, which act as tooth root substitutes. They are surgically placed into the jawbone. Small posts are then attached to the implant, which protrude through the gums. These posts provide stable anchors for artificial replacement teeth. For most patients, the placement of dental implants involves two surgical procedures. First, implants are placed within your jawbone. For the first three to six months following surgery, the implants are beneath the surface of the gums, gradually bonding with the jawbone.

Learn more about dental implants

You should be able to wear temporary dentures and eat a soft diet during this time. At the same time, your restorative dentist designs the final bridgework or denture, which will ultimately improve both function and aesthetics.

After the implant has bonded to the jawbone, the second phase begins. The surgeon will uncover the implants and attach a small healing collar. Dr Ortega can then start making your new teeth. An impression must be taken. Then posts or attachments can be connected to the implants. The replacement teeth are then made over the posts or attachments. The entire procedure usually takes six to eight months. Most patients do not experience any disruption in their daily life.

Implant-loaded dentures, also known as implant-supported or implant-retained dentures, are a type of dental prosthesis anchored to titanium dental implants placed in the jawbone. Unlike traditional dentures that rest on the gums and may require adhesives, implant-loaded dentures are secured to these implants, providing greater stability and security, enhancing comfort and confidence while eating, speaking, and smiling.

There are two main types: fixed implant-supported dentures, which are permanently attached and can only be removed by our dentist, and removable implant-supported dentures, which can be taken out by the wearer for cleaning but still offer more stability than conventional dentures. These dentures help maintain bone density by stimulating the jawbone, preventing the bone loss often associated with missing teeth and traditional dentures.

Custom-made to fit the individual’s mouth and implants, implant-loaded dentures ensure a comfortable and natural-looking fit. The process involves several steps, including the surgical placement of the implants, a healing period for osseointegration (where the bone grows around the implant), and finally attaching the dentures to the implants. Overall, implant-loaded dentures provide a durable and effective solution for those who have lost multiple teeth and seek a more permanent and stable alternative to traditional dentures.

Replacing the top or bottom arch of teeth with standard dental implants would typically require an implant for each tooth. However, at Blue Diamond Dental, we offer the All-on-4® treatment, which uses just four implants to replace the entire top or bottom row of teeth. This solution is effective even for patients who have no teeth at all.

The All-on-4 implant treatment is similar to getting regular implants but with a faster procedure and recovery time. Initially, our team will take impressions and X-rays, which are sent to a lab for preparation. At a subsequent appointment, we will use a local anesthetic to numb the patient and, if necessary, remove any remaining damaged teeth. Then, we will insert titanium screws into four strategic locations in the upper and lower jaw. These anchors will support the artificial teeth throughout the mouth, providing a stable and effective solution for restoring your smile.

After getting dental implants, it is important to follow specific post-operative care instructions to ensure proper healing and long-term success. Initially, you may experience some swelling, bruising, and discomfort, which can be managed with prescribed pain medication and ice packs.

Maintaining good oral hygiene is crucial; gently brush and floss around the implant area to prevent infection. Stick to a soft food diet for the first few days, gradually reintroducing harder foods as advised by your dentist. Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, as these can impede the healing process.

Regular follow-up appointments with us are essential to monitor the healing progress and ensure the implants are integrating well with the jawbone. Adhering to these guidelines will help ensure the longevity and success of your dental implants.
